New to NSM’s Organic range. These organic green peas have had their outer husk removed & split in half. Organic Green Split Peas have a mild earthy flavour and are packed full of goodness. They do not need to be rehydrated overnight. Because they are split they absorb water much faster than whole peas, therefore cook faster and continue to break apart whilst cooking, adding texture & taste to the dish.

Organic Green Split Peas are commonly used in thick soups and stews. Split Peas can also be used to make dips, spreads and pate. They are also enjoyed blended with other ingredients in casseroles, bean burgers and stuffing’s.

New to our Organic range from Canada. These Organic Green lentils are a popular source of protein for vegetarians, as they are rich in nutrients. Green lentils offer a number of other beneficial nutrients such as fibre and iron. In addition to eating lentils on their own, you can add lentils to soup and other recipes for a nutritional boost. The lentil is 25 percent protein—second only to soybeans as a source of usable protein. Lentil is an excellent source of vitamin A and provides fibre, potassium, B vitamins, and iron.

These unique lentils have a stunning black coat that holds their shape well when cooked. Perfect to use in summer salads or serve as a warm bed for poultry or other meats. These lentils get their name from Mt Byron in the Black range of Wimmera. They are a rare treat as this is the only location in Australia where they are grown.

The seeds are planted into deep fertile self-mulching soils under a wide blue sky with only natural rainfall to help them grow. Long days of warm sunshine slowly mature these delicate seeds which are harvested and cleaned with great care. These fine quality grains come fresh from the farm each year which guarantees you single origin harvest.
