Prunes (Pitted)

Description

They should be dried pitted prunes with minimal torn fruits, free from (fermentation)  mould, infestation and foreign materials. Prepared from sound, mature fresh fruit which have been harvested, washed and tunnel dried with warm air to approximately 21% moisture. Then graded to size,  sorted to remove general defects, rewashed, rehydrated and sprayed with Potassium Sorbate to prevent yeast and mould growth. Should be free of moisture and infestation.

Prunes, Potassium Sorbate E202 (not to exceed 1000ppm)

  • Colour
    Uniform dark amber brown coloured fruit with minimal discoloration and blemishes.
  • Odour
    Typical of pitted prune. Characteristic, free from and any musty or other objectionable odours and taints.
  • Texture
    Should be uniform, soft loose fruit.
  • Moisture
    32% - 34%

Clean, Dry, Cool Area, Free from infestation, recommended Temperature 0-15 Celsius
